My Faith

As long as I live, I believe in God.

Since the age of four, I remember God being vividly in my life.
One night I laid in bed and looked as always into the stream of light that flooded from the old fashioned streetlamp through the window into our dark room. I thought of the man who had lit the lamp and whom I had missed watching that night. I looked through the window and embraced the phenomena of light and darkness and was stunned and filled with incredible excitement, when all of a sudden I heard my name called from the window by an extraordinarily beautiful voice. As a child I knew it was God who had called my name…

Then the years went by, and somehow I always believed that God was there, and that he knew me.

Until I was 27 years old, God still was mostly kind of abstract to me, but my mother always reminded me of the existence of a loving God. She always made sure I believed I was loved. At the time in the seventies many religions had a chance to co-exist and I learned to accept all religions that had LOVE as the most important value.
To go to a Museum or to the Academy of Arts on Sundays was more the style of the family then to go to church and I liked that a lot.
